For five years David Van Reybrouck worked on his monumental Revolusi, a thorough research on the battle for independence of Indonesia. For this publication I was asked to create thirty monotone maps on various subjects concerning the history of Indonesia.

The design of the maps is referring to the styles and printing technologies of the mid 20th century. Therefore all maps contain only black, so variations in tone are only accomplished by using various different shadings.
